Jolly Dicers Slot Review
Preparing our Jolly Dicers slot machine review was a sheer pleasure from beginning to end, with endless ideas to explore that were just as original as the game’s main visual concept. Once you’ve read about its features, you’ll be desperate to set sail and head off into the unknown to see how much cash you can grab for yourself, and with all the knowledge you’ll have at your fingertips you won’t be in uncharted territory for long.
Jolly Dicers Theme
At first glance this is an extraordinary-looking game, thanks to its revolutionary playing symbol delivery system. It is set on the stern of a classic 17th century pirate ship complete with dynamic background scenery and rigging, all of which slowly moves around in the breeze as you play. The ship’s captain and his beefy assistant are present at all times, overseeing the action as you travel the ocean in search of innocent, cash-laden ships to terrorise.
The symbols in the main grid are all dice, and therefore appear bearing numbers from 1 to 6. The surrounding symbols are a little more interesting and include bombs, antique pistols and wax parchment seals – and these are key to triggering some of the more interesting features on offer at this online casino.
Betting Options
The minimum you can bet at this slot is just $0.10 per spin. Should you wish to bet more and increase your chances of looting some serious treasure you can choose from a total of 11 bets, right up to $100. As with nearly all online slots, the more money you bet per spin, the more you could find yourself winning.
At the bottom centre of the screen, you’ll see your bet per spin shown, with ‘+’ and ‘-‘ controls either side of it. You can quickly alter your bet using these, or click into the centre of this panel to bring up a host of options for you to choose from. There’s no need to select a number of paylines to play, as this game doesn’t follow a traditional multi-payline format.
Bonus Features
Like all players who’ve never seen this game before, we thought it was an unusual-looking slot – but when we started collecting material to write our Jolly Dicers review, we realised that its appearance is just the beginning. There’s some serious craziness once you start playing, and the first feature you’ll need to get your head round is the idea of clusters.
Instead of having to line up matching symbols on paylines, matching dice symbols that land adjacent to one another in any direction will form a winning cluster. Clusters of four or more symbols lead to a prize, before they then explode, allowing cascades to take place, dropping symbols from above into their place.
However, with every spin the rotating symbols surrounding the main grid can take effect as well. They don’t do anything on their own, but they’ll launch a feature when they appear opposite an identical symbol:
Two matching scatter coin symbols will trigger 6 free spins, and if 2 or more pairs are matched simultaneously then 6 extra free spins are awarded.
Two opposing magic potion symbols will convert the 4 dice between them into the highest paying number 6 symbol and pay out accordingly.
Two bomb symbols will destroy the 4 symbols between them, which will be replaced, enabling subsequent cascades until no more wins are made.
Two matching cutlass symbols will see all low pay symbols (valued 3 or less) disappearing and you’ll then be awarded a payout based on their values. Should you land 2 diametrically opposed pistol symbols, the same process will happen except the higher value symbols will disappear instead.
All these features ought to be enough to keep even the most gung-ho pirate happy, but there’s more: Launch any of the above features when scatter symbols appear, and the Bonus Game will be activated. This uses the same 4×4 grid as the main game, but you’ll throw a couple of dice first to determine which 2 numbers are going to be excluded from the grid. With only 4 numbers now appearing it’ll be easier to score wins, and as you do, you’ll be rewarded with multipliers that move up 1 step at a time, with 5x being the highest possible multiplier.
Finally, there’s a gamble game that starts when you manage to activate 6 cascades in a row. At this point you’ll be given the chance to walk the plank, advancing along its precarious, rickety length by rolling dice to see how far you have to walk. Make it through without going into the drink and you’ll significantly improve your winnings.
Jolly Dicers Maximum Win
Land a top-paying cluster at the maximum multiplier level and then successfully walk the plank, all while betting the maximum possible amount, and a $115,528 bounty will be all yours, to spend as you wish. We can’t advise you on exactly what to do with it, but a few rum cocktails might be a suitable starting point. To work out how much each cluster is worth, you’ll find a handy calculator built into the game’s paytable.
Is Jolly Dicers Worth Playing and Who Should Play It?
This game is an absolute must if for no other reason than its brilliantly conceived and executed visuals. There’s nothing else like it – or likely to be any time soon. You’ll also find that the many features lead to exceptionally exciting gameplay, plus the prizes can be huge, especially if you’re successful with the gamble feature.
Whilst the paytable contains enough features to keep the most demanding player happy, beginners will fall in love with the theming and consequently have no trouble finding enough motivation to work out what’s going on. If you like cascading reel games like Da Vinci Diamonds and Gonzo’s Quest, you’ll enjoy the central grid format here, though in terms of features this game starts where its predecessors finish, with so much more to enjoy.tility slots.
