Betty, Boris and Boo Slot Review
We spent many happy hours with the three apparitions that play host to this impressive game, and now think of them as good friends. Thanks to their help we were able to write our Betty, Boris and Boo slot machine review with some really fond memories of our time in their company.
Betty, Boris and Boo Theme
Set in the hallway of a large, haunted mansion, the reels you play are set into the frame of a large, gilt edged mirror, and Red Tiger Gaming have really gone to town with the detailing both within the reels and backdrop to make sure that ample justice is done to such a brilliantly conceived idea. Pastel browns, beiges and blue shadings are tastefully blended together, and it’s not hard to see why the characters in this game are keen to call it home.
On the reels, of course, you’ll meet the ghosts themselves, and they’re an inspired-looking bunch, taking their cue from some very famous creations. Boris looks like a cross between Count Orlok from the Nosferatu movie and Dobby from the Harry Potter films – with some liberally-applied gold body spray on top. Betty is a purplish, semi-translucent glamourpuss, presumably modelled on Beatrice Dalle from the 1986 erotic psycho drama Betty Blue. Finally there’s Boo, whose inspiration is immediately obvious. Not only does he share his green skin colour with Slimer (everyone’s favourite from Ghostbusters), but he’s also carrying an armful of donuts and junk food, so the pair of them are clearly close relatives, although Boo is in fact a (rather overweight) genie as well.
Betting Options
Betty, Boris and Boo has a minimum bet of $0.20 per spin, which should be low enough for most slot players. The most that can be bet per spin is a pretty disappointing $20 – most other online slots allow players to bet at least $100 per spin. This low maximum bet means that this slot isn’t suitable for high rollers.
As with all Red Tiger games, there are simple ‘+’ and ‘-‘ symbols in the bottom left of the screen, with an autoplay button right next to it. You can use these buttons to set your bet amount. You’ll only need to set your bet amount once, as the game will remember how much you’ve chosen to bet for all subsequent spins in a playing session.
Bonus Features
The first symbol to be aware of at this slot from Red Tiger Gaming is the diamond, as this is the wild symbol. This means that it can substitute for all symbols, except the Spooky Spin symbols. It’s just a standard wild, so no multipliers are added to it, however it should help you make many winning combinations.
Land 3 or more Spooky Spin symbols spread across reels 1,3 and 5 and you’ll win a cash prize, plus you’ll trigger the all-important Spooky Spin sequence. We managed this a number of times when researching our Betty, Boris and Boo review and found that it was key to getting the best from our session. You’re given 10 free spins, and at this point each ghost becomes active, using their own unique feature to add some extra zest to your complimentary games.
Betty has the ability to turn regular symbols into wilds, which will remain sticky for the duration of your free spins round, whilst Boo adds a anything up to a 10x multiplier to wins. Finally, Boris can expand a randomly appearing high value symbol into larger symbols, making large wins incredibly easy.
Betty, Boris and Boo Maximum Win
There’s a maximum win of 5,241x your stake, which at the highest $20 level means a $104,820 payout should you summon up the right combination of spirits. This maximum win is made possible by the fact that it’s possible to get multiple winning combinations on a single spin, plus there are some big multipliers on offer during the free spins bonus.
Is Betty, Boris and Boo Worth Playing and Who Should Play It?
This is an online slot that’s definitely worth playing, as it has pretty much everything a slot player could want. The theme is an enjoyable one, while the gameplay is exciting, especially if you manage to start the great free spins bonus round. The prizes on offer are the main reason to play however, with the biggest possible win being 5,241x your stake.
Thanks to its alluring cast this slot is well worth a look by players of all levels. Whilst the free spins round looks fairly complex, the ghosts will take care of everything for you when you trigger it. The game has a high volatility, which should please those looking for the most exciting experience possible. Those who want regular, small wins might not be too keen on this slot however.
