Once you’ve read our Fairy Tale slot machine review, you’ll know exactly what to expect and can look forward to endless hours of unbeatably therapeutic gaming whenever you’ve got time to spare. So, keep reading to find out more!
Fairy Tale Theme
It’s unlikely you’d ever find any of the fairies in this game at the top of a Christmas tree. In fact, were it not for their barely-visible elf-like ears you’d be more likely to see them in an Irish beauty pageant – but there’s nothing tasteless about this approach. It’s impressively done, with the ladies in question floating above a dark pink sea of clouds and some suitably emerald-tinged foliage added for good measure.
The occasional Celtic knot design appears, and the optional soft pipe music leaves you in no doubt as to which side of the Irish Sea you’re on when you play this game. When we put this Fairy Tale review together, however, the theming gradually took a back seat to the gameplay. This may be one of the most relaxing slots on the market, but that doesn’t mean it can’t pack a mighty punch when it wants to.
Betting Options
The minimum you can bet per spin at the Fairy Tale slot is $0.20, which equates to $0.01 per payline. The maximum bet amount is just $2, which is $0.10 per payline. The fact that this game has such a low maximum bet will put off both mid-stakes and high-stakes players, who will head elsewhere to bet more money.
You can select up to 20 paylines to play, and then choose a bet per payline amount (simply marked as ‘Bet’ on a tab to the bottom left of the reels), or you can adjust the entire bet using the main bet button instead. All of this is done without having to enter any menu screens – it’s all adjustable from the buttons at the bottom and it’s very easy to pick up.
Bonus Features
Alongside the fairies, there’s also a diamond symbol, which acts as both a wild and scatter symbol. It substitutes for all other symbols, but land 3 or more anywhere on the reels at once and a rather remarkable free spins round starts up. You’re given unlimited (yes, you read that right…) free spins, where the amounts you take from payline wins repeatedly goes up every time you liberate a dove from a cage. This feat is achieved by landing the random key symbol on the 5th reel, and every time you open a cage, you’ll be awarded a higher multiplier, which can go up to 5x, after which your free spins round will be completed.
There’s also a simple Gamble feature at this slot, which gives you the chance to boost your prizes even further. Just correctly guess whether the next card will be higher or lower than the previous one and you’ll double your prize, but guess incorrectly and you’ll lose everything you just managed to win.
Fairy Tale Maximum Win
Five of the most valuable fairy (the blond one in case you’re wondering…) on a valid payline subject to a maximum 5x multiplier will net you a very tidy win worth 2,000x your bet per payline. Given how hypnotic this game is you may find yourself spending it all again very quickly, though Endorphina have really pulled the stops out on this beautiful slot– so much so that losing spins don’t even feel like losses, just a small price to pay for some superb, high end entertainment.
Is Fairy Tale Worth Playing and Who Should Play It?
So much time, effort and love has gone into making this game that it feels rude not to at least give it a try. The designers could easily have left it as a standard 5-reeler with a set number of multiplied free spins, but in coming up with the cage and key sequence they’ve devised something genuinely different and ended up with a game that‘s an instant hit, as well as something you‘ll go back to again and again. Therefore, it’s definitely a game that’s worth playing.
Anyone who loves games about Irish luck needs to give it a whirl, as does anyone seeking a free spins bonus round with an innovative and exceptionally exciting central feature that opens up a truly original new way to win. Ability-wise, anyone can play it, from complete beginners right up to strategy-obsessed experts.
