Nitropolis Slot Review
Some games are hard to write about because we just can’t stop playing them, and we had to use all the self-control we could muster to put this one down and write our Nitropolis slot machine review. You’ll reap serious rewards by reading through it though, as this is a serious slot with some highly innovative ideas, so the better prepared you are, the sooner you’ll get the most from it.
Nitropolis Theme
ELK have come up with a brilliant storyline for this game, creating a post-apocalyptic world where nearly every living species has been wiped out. Only 4 gangs of mean-looking survivors are left and they’ve formed gangs. The Dirty Dawgs, Gritty Kitties, Pug Thugs and Rogue Rats spend their days and nights fighting to get hold of Nitro, a green radioactive sludge that’s the only car fuel left on the planet.
Each gang gets its own symbol, depicted as a badge sewn onto a leather jacket – whilst lower value symbols are squirted onto the screen using various colours of nitro fluid. The reels are encased in some old-school electrical circuitry and the whole thing is set against a chemical plant background, though the overall effect is surprisingly pleasing on the eye and proves beyond any doubt that beauty can be found in the most unlikely of places.
Betting Options
Bets range from just $0.20 to $100 with plenty of options in between, so even though this game is an assault on the senses it doesn’t have to have an overwhelming impact on your bankroll. When playing to gather data for our Nitropolis review we tried a variety of stake levels and had just as much fun no matter how much we were betting, which is always the acid test of a good slot.
Changing bet levels is easy, too: Just click or tap the pile of coins at the bottom left of the screen, pick one of the 12 bet levels and you’re good to go.
Bonus Features
Winning Respins take place every time you make a winning line in the base game. This means that all symbols used in a winning combination are re-spun and will continue to do so until no new winning combinations appear.
Most interesting, however, are the trademarked Nitro Reels. These can appear on any reel at any time and take up two standard symbol spaces. However, they cram a large number of symbols into that double space – either 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 in fact. This, obviously, will affect the number of winning paylines available on any given spin – and this number will be shown on at the top of the reels. Theoretically there could be Nitro Reels covering the whole screen, in which case you’d have 85,155,840 ways to win, which is an industry record as far as we’re aware – and by no small margin either.
Land 3 or more scatters and you’ll trigger a free spins round. You’ll be awarded 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins in return for 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters respectively. Prior to spinning, a symbol is chosen at random as a special free spins scatter symbol, with 3 or more of them on 3 or more different reels yielding a win. On top of this, Nitro Reels are locked place throughout your free spins, making it far easier to hit high paying winning combinations.
Nitropolis Maximum Win
The top 10,000x prize will win you a total of $1 million at the highest bet level – and you’ll find there’s more to spend it on than liquid fuel. With that kind of cash in the bank it’s a safe bet that your life will be far from post-apocalyptic.
Is Nitropolis Worth Playing and Who Should Play It?
The intro video alone makes it quite clear that this is a premium production, and we’d advise anyone to give it a try no matter what your theming preferences. However, if you love hardcore industrial music with a punk edge then you’ll fall in love with it for a very long time.
