Diamond Strike

Diamond Strike review

This is a modern take on the old fruit machine: bright, simple and fast. The diamond is the wild. It lands stacked on all five reels and substitutes for every symbol except the free spins scatter and the golden 7. Stacked wilds on several reels are how the base game delivers its bigger line wins.

Free spins

Three free spins scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 8 free spins. During the feature extra diamond wilds are added to the reels, which raises the chance of full-reel wild combinations. Three more scatters award another 8 spins, with no limit on retriggers.

The jackpot bonus

Three golden 7s anywhere on the screen start the jackpot game. No payline is needed. You pick diamonds to reveal jackpot symbols, and the first jackpot to show three matching symbols is the one you win. The four jackpots are fixed multiples of your total stake: Mini 10x, Minor 30x, Major 100x and Mega 1,000x. These are not progressive jackpots, so the amounts never grow. The jackpot game can also trigger during free spins.

Volatility and max win

Pragmatic rates Diamond Strike as medium volatility. The base game pays fairly often thanks to stacked wilds, and the 1,000x Mega jackpot is the top prize. A different build of the game with other figures also exists at some casinos (see RTP below).

How to play

• Choose your stake (from 0.15 to 75 per spin at most casinos). All 15 paylines are always active.
• Stacked diamond wilds substitute for everything except the free spins scatter and the golden 7.
• Three scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 8 free spins with extra wilds. They can be retriggered without limit.
• Three golden 7s anywhere start the jackpot pick game: Mini 10x, Minor 30x, Major 100x or Mega 1,000x.

Diamond Strike RTP

The most widely published RTP is 96.48%. Several versions exist, though: Pragmatic’s own demo currently shows 97.02%, and another build is listed at 96.96%. Casinos choose the version, so check the game’s info screen before playing for real money.

Pros and cons

What we like

• Simple classic gameplay with stacked wilds
• Four fixed jackpots, up to 1,000x
• Unlimited free spins retriggers
• Several RTP versions, some above 97%

What could be better

• Classic fruit theme feels plain
• Max win capped at 1,000x in the standard version
• Only 8 free spins per trigger

Our verdict

Diamond Strike is one of the better classic-style slots. Stacked wilds keep the base game going, and the jackpot pick game gives every session a clear goal. It suits players who want a simple game with a bit of extra excitement. For another modern fruit machine, try Hot Fiesta or Fire Joker.
