Once our adrenaline levels had subsided we sat down and wrote this Crown of Valor slot machine review in the hope that we could convey our enthusiasm for this amazing game. Crown of Valor Theme
With an impressive stone tower to one side of the reels and a large wooden scaffold on the other, you’ll know you’re in a war-torn castle before you even start spinning, though the playing grid itself takes centre stage, constructed as it is from large granite bricks framed by a pair of impressive turrets with the game logo sat resplendently across the top and a serious-looking multiplier status bar at the bottom. 

The symbols themselves fall dramatically onto the playing area, cascading reel-style, with each one set into a stone tile that sits against the brick backdrop for an overwhelming image of solidity despite the carnage that’s taking place in the background.  

Betting Options 
If you fancy your chances against this formidable opponent you can take part from as little as $0.20, though if you’re looking to make a regal-sized win then larger bets are available up to an impressive $100 per spin.

Bet levels at this slot can be easily adjusted by clicking the pile of coins to the right of the reels, making your selection and then returning to the main game to start spinning. We made numerous adjustments when researching our Crown of Valor review and found it very easy to change the amount as often as we liked.

Bonus Features
This game is played out on a 5×5 grid rather than the standard 5 rows by 3 columns, but the cascading reels format – known as Tumble Mechanics at Quickspin – works exactly as you’d expect, with all winning combinations catching fire, burning away to nothing and letting symbols above fall into their place. However, there’s an interesting twist in this game, as all winning clusters activate the Burning Wild feature which places a wild symbol above one of the symbols forming a cluster for extra potential wins. Any Burning Wild involved in a winning combination will see your multiplier rise. This multiplier can reach up to 6x, however it resets once the turn is over.

This isn’t the only meter in this game, either: To the right of the playing grid there’s another meter that fills up by one unit with every winning cluster. Reach 18 consecutive wins in the base game and 4 Burning Wilds will be added to the screen to help you score more tumble wins and in turn trigger even more Burning Wilds and multipliers. 

If you’re looking for a more traditional feature then this game has that covered too: Land 3, 4 or 5 bonus scatter symbols and you’ll be given 10, 14 or 18 free spins. Additional scatters appearing during free spins increase your free spin tally by one an unlimited number of times, with winning tumbles upping multiplier values one at a time as well. This multiplier won’t reset after a spin, so it will continue building throughout the free spins.

Crown of Valor Maximum Win
Defend this particular castle successfully and you’ll stand to make up to 15,619x your stake level – which equates to $1,561,900. It won’t quite buy you a castle but it’s enough to let you add a moat and drawbridge to your existing home with plenty of leftover cash to spend on a slap-up banquet with all the trimmings. 

Is Crown of Valor Worth Playing and Who Should Play It?
Quickspin doesn’t release endless ‘cookie cutter’ slots – all their games are carefully thought out, lavish affairs and this one is no exception so it’s well worth a look. There’s quite a lot to it though, so if you’re after something breezy to play on the bus or during a work break, you’ll probably need to look elsewhere. 

We’d recommend it to intermediate and advanced players primarily, as its cluster win format takes a while to fully understand when combined with the other features on offer.
